Coach Chris Langswager is the Owner and Head Instructor of H-Town Jiu Jitsu in Hilton, New York. A Purple Belt under John Farrar Sr. of BEDROC MMA, his approach to Jiu Jitsu is built on problem solving, discipline, and real-world application. He has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2019, and teaching since 2023. He holds a 1-0 Amateur MMA record.
A veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserve, Coach Chris earned his Green Belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) and deployed to Iraq in 2009. That experience shaped the mindset he brings to the mats—resilient, direct, and focused on earning everything.
Seeing a shortage of high-quality Jiu Jitsu on the west side of Rochester, he founded H-Town Jiu Jitsu in 2026 with a clear mission: build a tough, tight-knit, family-driven academy where beginners are welcomed, and hard work is expected.
Outside the academy, Coach Chris is a Tenured Assistant Professor at Monroe Community College and an instructor in the Toyota/Lexus T-TEN Automotive Technology program. An ASE Master Automobile Technician by trade, he brings the same attention to detail and work ethic from the shop floor to the mats.
He lives in Hilton with his wife Paige and their daughters, Rayme and Elsa—keeping fitness and self-improvement a family lifestyle both on and off the mat.
