What Should My Child Bring?

🥤 Water Bottle

👕 T-Shirt (A rashguard is recommended)

🩳 Athletic Shorts (Shorts without pockets are best)

🩴 Sandals or Crocs (To wear when stepping off the mats and help keep our training area clean)

😁 Mouth Guard (Recommended, but not required)

What to Expect

Our Mat Monsters Jiu Jitsu program is designed for children ages 8-12 and focuses on building confidence, discipline, respect, and teamwork in a fun and safe environment.

Through games, drills, and partner activities, kids will learn the fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu while improving balance, coordination, problem-solving, and body awareness. Classes are active, engaging, and designed to help children develop both on and off the mats.

No experience is necessary! Whether your child is experienced or brand new to Jiu Jitsu, they'll be welcomed into a positive and supportive team atmosphere.

Most importantly, we encourage our students to:
✅ Try their best
✅ Be respectful to their teammates
✅ Have a positive attitude
✅ Never be afraid to learn something new

Jiu Jitsu can be challenging, but that's part of what makes it so rewarding. We celebrate effort, growth, and having fun while learning together!

What to bring?

  • Water Bottle
  • T-Shirt (Rashguard recommended)
  • Shorts (Shorts with no pockets recommended)
  • Sandals/Slides for stepping off the mats (we want to keep dirt and outside debris OFF our mats for everyone's health)
  • A Mouth Guard is recommended

Our Adult No-Gi Jiu Jitsu class is open to all skill levels, ages 14 and up.

Training is centered around the Constraints-Led Approach (CLA), which prioritizes live, situational learning over excessive static drilling. Rather than memorizing techniques in isolation, students are placed in realistic grappling scenarios that encourage exploration, adaptation, and problem-solving.

Through guided live training, athletes develop the skills that matter most in grappling: timing, awareness, decision-making, and the ability to solve problems under pressure. Specific techniques are introduced as needed, but the primary focus is learning how to effectively apply Jiu Jitsu in dynamic, unpredictable situations.

Whether you're stepping onto the mats for the first time or you're an experienced grappler looking to sharpen your skills, you'll find a challenging, high-energy, and supportive training environment.

Jiu Jitsu is hard—and that's what makes it rewarding.

Come with an open mind. Be willing to try new things. Leave your ego at the door, and be ready to learn.
